Drivers from companies across Go South Coast to participate in the National Bus Driver of the Year Competition

Drivers from across Go South Coast came together to take part in their local bus driver of the year competition, held at Salisbury Livestock Market, earlier on in the month.

The cream of the crop from Salisbury Reds, Southampton's Bluestar, Swindon's Bus Company, Southern Vectis on the Isle of Wight and Morebus in Bournemouth and Poole and Damory all competed against each other for a chance to attend the national final in Blackpool in September. Only the top 5 drivers from the local competition are able to take part.

Judges based their decision on a range of criteria - including drivers' professionalism at work, knowledge of road theory and stand-out skills during manoeuvers. There are many great drivers across all Go South Coast operators so this made for a tough competition.

Mick Paul from Morebus (1st place), Nick Senior from Damory (2nd place), Robbie Symms from Bluestar (3rd place), Lukasz Nitenberg from Bluestar and Donna Lockyear from Southern Vectis will all be attending the national final in Blackpool.
