On -Board Bus Systems Officer
Job Description
Due to a growing need, this post will be responsible for project delivery of on-board related systems such as Real Time Information, Next Stop announcements, Wi-Fi Website, Mobile App and other IT Systems, supporting the business. You will also be responsible for day to day maintenance and troubleshooting these systems to ensure good business delivery and continuity.
You will be working with IT systems - both industry specific and wider applications as well as being part of a small team rolling out projects to meet both good practice and new legislation.
The focus is t provide correct and timely information within the business and to customers at a time when we are using more and more data to deliver our services. You will be responsible for making sure systems are correct and the data behind the systems is right - you will work across various teams delivering services in Bournemouth & Poole, Dorset, Southampton and South Hampshire, Isle of Wight, Swindon, Salisbury and Wiltshire.
Skills and experience required:
- Like working at a fast pace and with changing situations
- A passion for sustainable travel and the environment
- Good communication skills and an eye for detail
- Good analytical & desktop application skills including Excel
- Ability to work to tight deadlines
- Clean driving licence
- Ability to undertake varied work at short notice.
This is a full time, permanent role primarily based at our Head Office in Poole but will require travel across Wiltshire, Hampshire, Dorset and the Isle of Wight. The job requires late and weekend working where there is a need as well as physically accessing buses and depot equipment along with office based work.
