Health, safety and environmental issues form a major part of our operations and to further strengthen our health and safety focus an additional Assistant Health and Safety Officer is being recruited to assist in taking our business forward.
Reporting to the Health, Safety and Risk Manager, you will provide support and guidance to the management teams and assist with the implementation of the Company’s health and safety policies and procedures. Your will be a highly motivated and dedicated professional with the ability to communicate effectively with internal customers and external organisations such as the HSE and Environment Agency. The role will include conducting risk assessments, writing safe systems of work, managing COSHH, ensuring the sites manage their fire risks, conducting accident investigation plus overseeing the management of contractors and visitors to our premises.
This role is primarily in the Hampshire and Wiltshire area but will require occasional travel to other locations in our operating area of Dorset and London. The role forms a very important part of the business and requires a very hands-on approach to the work environment. Experience of working in an engineering/logistics environment/role would be advantageous, together with NEBOSH certificate or equivalent health and safety qualification as a minimum.
